At Vivacity, our goal is to make cities smarter. Our work makes traffic lights more intelligent, reducing congestion; spots dangerous manoeuvres on the road, improving safety; and gathers real-time data to support autonomous vehicles & city management alike.
To do this, we create cutting-edge products using machine learning, including sensors with onboard video analytics capabilities, and city-wide control and optimisation algorithms. We are currently rolling out thousands of sensors across the UK, and seeking passionate and experienced Sales Director to join our Sales team.
About the role:
As our Sales Director, you will have the opportunity to create and shape our sales strategy, governance and business model, develop a consistent narrative to engage government and local authorities at the highest level and to define the customer acquisition strategy for our business. This is a highly visible role within one of the fastest growing startups in the field, giving you the opportunity to influence and shape the trajectory of AI in transport infrastructure.
In your day to day work:
You’ll use a data-driven approach to continually refine the company’s value proposition and sales strategy in a competitive market
You’ll create the customer acquisition strategy, overseeing its execution to ensure the company is rapidly scaling our UK presence.
You’ll take ownership for reporting, analysis and improvements in key metrics such as lead time, conversion rate & cost per acquisition.
You’ll lead, grow, and develop a team of Business Development Managers and Executives, ensuring you have an incredibly high performing team with the ability to hit ambitious targets. You’ll also be responsible for designing a compensation strategy to ensure your team are motivated and rewarded for their efforts.
You’ll work with your team to close large and complex deals, working with senior clients at a national level to build durable & effective relationships.
You’ll manage process improvements and transformative change initiatives.
You will line manage & support our International Exploration Manager in their efforts to assess which international markets Vivacity should be targeting, and have a major impact on the future direction of the company.
You’ll have 10 years of professional experience, with at least 3 years in a Sales Management / Sales Leadership position.
You’ll have a solid grounding in B2B or B2G sales, business development or strategic partnerships.
You managed and grown sales teams selling technical products and services (for example systems integration, SaaS, AI or IOT)
You’ll have substantial experience in data analysis, and the ability to see beyond the numbers to drive decision-making.
You’ll have experience using and developing reports, metrics and dashboards with relevant sales metric tools and programs
Ideally, you’ll have experience leading a sales team for a venture-backed technology startup/scaleup during national or international expansion.
Undergraduate degree required
You are self-motivated and thrive in a fast-paced environment, and are excited to take-on stretch goals and deal with uncertainty while taking strategic decisions despite incomplete information.
